This policy implements Article 13 (Whistleblower) of the UMASDA, Inc. Amended and Restated Bylaws.
UMASDA, Inc. requires directors, officers, employees, and volunteers to observe high standards of business and personal ethics. This policy encourages and enables individuals to raise serious concerns internally and protects them from retaliation.
Reporting Responsibility
Anyone who has a good-faith concern regarding suspected violations of law, financial impropriety, or unethical conduct should report it.
No Retaliation
No director, officer, employee, or volunteer who in good faith reports a concern shall suffer harassment, retaliation, or adverse consequence. Anyone who retaliates against a good-faith reporter is subject to discipline, up to and including removal.
How to Report
Concerns should be reported to the Executive Director or, where that is not appropriate (e.g., the concern involves the Executive Director), to the Secretary/Treasurer or the Board of Directors. Reports may be made in writing to UMASDA, Inc., 339 Maple St. Unit C, Salinas, CA 93901, or through our contact form.
Handling
Reports are taken seriously, investigated appropriately, and kept confidential to the extent practical. Concerns about financial reporting or accounting are directed to the officer responsible for financial oversight and reported to the Board.
